GST is applicable on house Rent

Now GST is applicable on  house rent  with effect from 18/07/2022. According to the Goods and Service Tax Act, renting out an immovable property would be treated as a supply of services. GST will be applicable to certain types of rent such as:

1. When a property is given out on lease or rent commercial or residential purposes and
2.  GST registered person who taken such property.

GST on such  type of property  would be charge on reverse charges mechanism
