PAN card is unique document issued by Income Tax Department under Income Tax Act, 1961. Each asseessee has a unique PAN number use to assess tax on each assessment year. PAN card is a legal document of Indian citizen to proof as identity of a person.
When a person apply new a PAN card application through various portal like, efiling, UTI,NSDL the respective agency gives a acknowledgement / coupon/token number to an applicant . Such applicant can track the application status online. Pan card gives many information of a person like

How to check PAN card status on NSDL website
Step 1. You need to have the acknowledgement number.
Step 2. Visit the NSDL website
Step 3. click on services option
Step 4. select PAN option from manu
Step 5. Select on know status of your application
Step 6. Select PAN- new/change request
Step 7. Enter the acknowledgement number
Step 8. Click on submit button
You will see that – your card is under process
– your card is dispatched etc
How to check PAN card status on UTI website
Step 1. You need to have the coupon number.
Step 2. Visit the UTIISL website
Step 3. select PAN card option
Step 4. click on track PAN card from drop down menu
Step 5. enter application coupon number
Step 6.. enter captch code and submit
You will see PAN card status
Option 1 Track on basis of acknowledgement number.

Step 2 – Select “ PAN – New / Change Request” from drop – down menu in “Application Type” option.
Step – 3 Enter your acknowledgement number and click on “submit” button.
